In the early 20th Century, The Finer Places’ concept was born within a Northeastern U.S. travel agency selling steamship and railway tickets to its clients. The Agency began using the term, Finer Places as a recommendation to these clients.
In the mid 1990s Judy Dean expanded this Finer Places’ focus to a global market as a travel tool aiding both the tourism destination in reaching a global audience and the traveler looking for unique and interesting travel opportunities. She introduced terrestrial and net radio programming to the listening public, giving them first-hand information about points of interest “Around the Corner and Around the World”?, while tapping into this effective but little used media tool to benefit the tourism industry.
The concept found its niche and with the addition of other multi-media services, The Finer Places has become a driving force not only for the tourism industry, but for small businesses and non-profit organizations "Around the Corner and Around the World"®.
